The Natural Beauty TAG

I spotted The Natural Beauty Tag on Jess’ blog (Queen Sapphire) a little while ago and I just had to do it. Since England’s heatwave, it has taught me to be a lot more comfortable in my own skin! I never used to be one of those girls that could just go out to the shop without makeup because I always thought I had bad skin when actually my skin isn’t too bad!

What do you love most about your skin?

I love that I have freckles on my nose and a little on my cheeks, I’ve never understood why people used to hate on their freckles.. I’ve always thought they were cute! I also love the fact my skin only freaks out when I’m hormonal. Hooray for good skin 3 weeks of the month!

What is your biggest skin concern?

REDNESS! I get flushed cheeks so easily and I absolutely hate it. The worst thing is when someone points it out.. Like, can you not? Thanks!

Do you tend to use skincare/haircare products from one brand or do you switch them up?

When I find a brand/product that works for me I tend to stick to it and rarely step out to try anything new. When I had the spare money to do so I would often spend a good hour in Boots filling up my little basket with products to try but I’d find myself not really testing them all out evenly. I’d just use one whilst the rest sat in my cabinet unloved. I have a lot of products from Soap & Glory, all their products work really well, smell amazing and are well priced no matter your budget!

How does your skincare routine change throughout the seasons?

It doesn’t change dramatically.. The only thing that changes is how much I moisturise in the winter and I use more soothing face masks. I tend to get a little dryness around my nose when it’s cold.

At what age did you start or will you start using anti-ageing products?

I’ve been using under-eye creams for a few years (I’m 23). I have always had two creases under my eyes and it drives me mad because makeup just sits in them! I’ve tried a whole range of products but if you can suggest any then I’d be grateful!

What do you do to rescue your skin when it feels tired and gross?

FACE MASK! To be fair, I find any excuse to use a face mask.. I honestly love how refreshed your skin feels once you wash it off. Currently I’m obsessed with the Pure Clay face masks by L’Oreal. I want the whole collection!

What are your go-to skincare products?

My everyday skincare routine consists of the Soap & Glory Beauty Sleep Accelerator moisturiser, Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful eye cream and Nivea Original Care lip balm. Without these products, my skin is not the same!

Do you think that organic or all-natural ingredients truly make a difference in skincare or haircare?

I can’t really comment to be fair because I don’t source out organic or all natural ingredients. Other than Original Source shower gels.. They smell amazing, especially the lemon one!

What type of hair do you have?

I have pretty normal hair. It’s pin straight when it’s freshly washed and luckily it doesn’t tend to get dirty all that quickly!

Do you like to wear your hair naturally or do you usually style it?

I style my hair whenever I have to go out.. I usually just run the straighteners through it or put in a few curls to add some volume. The straighteners I use are the Nicky Clarke Diamond Shine Pro (you may have spotted them if you watched Love Island).

How do you keep your hair healthy?

I try not to wash my hair too often. I used to wash my hair everyday in my school years (my poor hair!) but now I can leave it for 3 days before it starts looking gross. I’ve recently changed my shampoo and conditioner. I’m using the Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect shampoo and the Pantene Pro-V Volume and Body conditioner.. It has done wonders, I think I have found the perfect combo for my hair!

Do you feel like there is a misconception about beauty bloggers being dependent on makeup?

People on the outside of blogging would see the sort of things we post and just make a judgement there and then. Just because you tend to talk about one particular thing doesn’t mean you’re dependent on it, it means you have an interest in it.. There’s a huge difference. As a beauty blogger, I can say that I only like makeup.. I don’t have to be wearing it to pop to the shops or even see friends. I’m happy with my skin, redness and all!  Afterall we only have the skin we live in.

  1. I love all the Soap and Glory skincare products!! I find that the Bobbi Brown eye cream is great, albeit a little pricey! If you don’t mind the price then I definitely recommend it!! Xoxo

    1. I don’t mind paying the money if it works! Haha I’ll give it a go 😃 thank you! xx

  2. Was lovely getting to know more about you through this! I feel we have very similar skin, freckles and redness! I’ve always struggled with how red my skin gets, it’s really annoying. I also love a good face mask, my skin always feels so soft after the Pure Clay ones. I really love trying new things but currently, have a routine that my skin is loving! It is feeling so nourished and its all down to glow tonic and serums/oils 🙂
