I will admit I fell off the blogging wagon HARD! If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter you will know that in October Toby and I went to Spain for a little family holiday and that’s where I disappeared! Once I got back I found it very hard to get back into blogging, although I am coming back with extremely exciting news.. We are having a baby in June!!
So last year I took a rather big step into ‘adulthood’. I moved out and in with my boyfriend Toby! When I was looking into moving out I struggled to find a realistic expectation of moving and everything involved.. So I thought it might be helpful to write my own post and help anyone else who is ready to fly the nest! Whether you’re doing it alone or with someone else, it’s always best to have a plan of action. You need to think about how you want the move to go and the things you need to do before, during and after the move. This post is based solely on renting a house as we are renting and I don’t have any personal experience of buying a house!
I have had Netflix for a good few years now and I feel like I have definitely got my money worth for the amount of great shows and films I have watched! So in this post, I have chosen my top six series on Netflix!
If you’re following me on Twitter then you will know I am dying from a cold (cue the violin) Luckily I seem to have got worse on my day off so I’ve spent most of today moving my blog from Blogger to WordPress.. Do you like our new home? WordPress is so different to Blogger but so far I’m loving how much you can customise! So for today’s post whilst I sit in feeling sorry for myself watching the rain fall outside I thought I would share what I tend to do when I have time to myself!
The horrible thing about life is every living thing has to die at some point, sadly it’s inevitable. Last week I lost my uncle and receiving that news was heartbreaking.. I went cold, sat on the floor from where I was stood and just sobbed my little heart out. The worst thing was that I couldn’t be with my family because I was still expected to work! It’s the first close family death I’ve gone through and it’s so tough. No matter how much you want to wake up from that nightmare, you can’t wake up from reality.
Hello Munchkins! So last weekend Toby and I had a little trip to Glastonbury to spend some time with his family as well as to go watch Beauty and the Beast (which is awesome! Definitely worth watching). After that, we went to Weston-super-Mare to have a wander on the beach. I’m planning on filming more vlogs in the future so be sure to subscribe to my channel to keep up to date!
Since moving stores at the beginning of February, I haven’t had an awful lot of time to do the things I enjoy.. Luckily my workload is starting to level out and I have a little more structure to my life! This day, in particular, has been one of my favourite days.. It was spontaneous, beautifully sunny and just nice to spend some quality time with Toby without me falling asleep on him!
Today on Adriana’s blog, I spotted a little questions tag and I’ve always loved these! It’s a great way for you to get to know me and even ask more questions if needs be! I’ll leave the questions below so if you’d like to join in with this tag you can..
1. What do you order at Starbucks?
I’m a big coffee drinker! I love their pumpkin spiced latte, however, I have found a way you can have a similar drink throughout the year.. Ask for a white mocha with chai! It’s not the exact same but it is very similar. If the barista seems confused by it, then I just ask for a regular mocha!
2. What’s one thing in your wardrobe that you cannot live without?
BOOTS!! Specifically, my Missguided boots.. I love that you can easily dress them up or down! A lady almost pinched my boots once whilst I was trying shoes on in Primark so I’m clearly not the only one that loves them!
3. What’s one thing most people do not know about you?
Hmm, that’s a tricky one! I’m pretty open about my life.. Some people don’t know that the boyfriend and I are planning on getting a bunny sometime this year.. Does that count?
4. What’s one thing you want to do before you die?
I would love to see the Northern Lights! Just the idea of seeing such a beautiful phenomenon and then staying in a cute, cosy cabin seems perfect to me.
5. What’s one food you cannot live without?
I love stir-frys.. I’m a big lover of veggies and Chinese cooking so add a little chicken into that and I’m set for life!
6. What’s one quote you live your life by?
‘Believe you can and you’re almost there’ – Theodore Roosevelt
It’s taught me to never give up on what I want and nothing is impossible to achieve if you put your mind to it! It’s what kept me pushing to get my promotion and hey, I got it!
7. What do you like/dislike about the youtube/blogging community?
Only recently I have discovered blogger chats on Twitter and the community I have discovered are amazing! It’s nice to be able to talk to so many like-minded people all in once place.. As it stands I haven’t found anything I dislike.
8. What’s the number one song on your Ipod or Itunes?
It changes all the time.. Music plays such a big part in my life! Currently, it is Florence + the Machine – Stand By Me I cannot stop listening to this song on repeat!!
9. What kind of style would you describe yourself as having?
I don’t think I fit into just one style.. I take things from each style really, so I would have to say mixed!
10. Favourite number?
I don’t have one, but for shits and gigs I’ll say ’16’ because 2016 was a good year so let’s go with that!
11. Two hobbies?
I love interior design.. I adore The Sims games because I can design a whole house, unfortunately, I can’t ‘design’ my own home because I do live with my boyfriend. As much as I’d love our house to look like #bloggergoals it wouldn’t be fair to make him live in a house that has white marble and copper everywhere! I guess my second hobby would be gaming? It’s great immersing yourself into another world, plus it’s something we do as a couple.
12. Two pet peeves?
Loud eaters. That’s the only thing I cannot stand!!
13. Your guilty pleasure?
I don’t think I have any to be fair..

This year has been one of the most life changing yet amazing years of my life.. Every goal I set myself I achieved. At the beginning of 2016, I was in a completely different place! Emotionally, I wasn’t doing too great and looking back.. I don’t think I realised how low I had become.. However, by the time February came around things started looking up!
Save enough money to get my next car
Now to some a Vauxhall Corsa may not be that exciting, however to me it was my reward for working my ass off and saving every penny I could. I’ve never been great with saving money because I would always get to a certain amount then decide to treat myself, so the fact I managed to control my usual habits of spending my money is something as well!
Find complete happiness
Like I said at the start of this post, the beginning of 2016 wasn’t great, to say the least.. I was stuck in a cycle of unhappiness and to be fair, I was just existing.. Not really living. I got into the routine of only getting out of bed when I had to go to work and the odd occasion where I would see friends, I was mostly watching stuff on Netflix or sleeping the days away. Turns out I only needed one person to get me out of that cycle.. That person was Toby. Our paths have always crossed since we met at school in 2005, he’s always been one of the few people that I could easily talk to about anything and everything! We’ve been together since March and I don’t think I could be any happier than I am right now.. He’s the reason why I’m going to get my ass into gear with my YouTube and blog, he knows I enjoy creating content but I had lost my confidence or motivation to do it.. He’s restored my motivation and he’s helping me come up with content and the best thing.. He’s willing to be in videos and posts! Yaaaas! I’m planning on buying myself a ‘vlogging‘ camera just so I have a good camera which is small enough to fit in my handbag and doesn’t weigh it down! We’re planning a trip to Edinburgh sometime this year and I would like to film it as well as any other moments throughout the year.
Step up the ladder at work
After about a year and a half of learning and working crazy hours I finally got the promotion I was after! I’m now a team leader in a Co-Op store and I absolutely love it! I’ve always been a fan of responsibility and this position has so much responsibility so it suits me down to the ground.. The only sad part is after February this year I will be made redundant because they’re closing the store I’m working in.. However, it gives me the chance to try something or somewhere new!
